Ingredients
Adjust Servings: 1
- 2 small/medium gold potatoes
- 1 cup green peas
- 3/4 cup shredded cheese
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- Pinch of black pepper
Directions
- Boil water in a pot, add the potatoes and peas, and cook slightly covered until soft, about 15 minutes.

- Form your potato cakes by scooping the mixture with a tablespoon and shaping it into small circular patties with your hands.
-
Cook the patties:
- Pan-fry option: Add a little olive oil to a non-stick pan and cook the patties over medium heat for 3–4 minutes on each side, until lightly golden.
- Oven option: Place patties on a lined baking tray, spray with oil and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying again if needed.
- The patties are very delicate when hot. Let them cool completely for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve with your favourite sides such as mashed avocado or a simple yogurt dip, and enjoy!
