Baby-Friendly Potato Buns

Baby-Friendly Potato Buns 🥔✨

✔ Recommended age: 12 months+
✔ Soft texture & nutritious filling

Ingredients:

  • 3 boiled potatoes
  • Salt (only in the cooking water)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 ½ cups whole milk powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • Shredded chicken for filling
  • Olive oil for greasing hands

Instructions:

  1. Boil the potatoes with a pinch of salt until soft.
  2. Mash well and pass through a sieve for a smooth consistency. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, egg, and parmesan cheese.
  4. Add the milk powder and adjust the salt if needed. Mix until a smooth dough forms and no longer sticks to your hands.
  5. Add the baking powder and knead lightly.
  6. Divide into small portions, grease your hands with olive oil, and flatten each portion.
  7. Place a bit of shredded chicken in the center and seal into a ball.
  8. Arrange on a baking tray, brush with olive oil, and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.

Storage & Freezing:

✔ Refrigeration: Store the buns in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
✔ Freezing: Once baked, allow them to cool completely before storing in small portions in freezer-safe bags or airtight containers. Can be frozen for up to 30 days.
✔ Defrosting: Remove only the needed portion from the freezer. Let it thaw naturally in the fridge or reheat directly in the oven or air fryer at 180°C (356°F) for 5 minutes. Do not refreeze once thawed.
