Baby-Friendly Potato Buns 🥔✨
✔ Recommended age: 12 months+
✔ Soft texture & nutritious filling
Ingredients:
- 3 boiled potatoes
- Salt (only in the cooking water)
- 1 egg
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 ½ cups whole milk powder
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- Shredded chicken for filling
- Olive oil for greasing hands
Instructions:
- Boil the potatoes with a pinch of salt until soft.
- Mash well and pass through a sieve for a smooth consistency. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, egg, and parmesan cheese.
- Add the milk powder and adjust the salt if needed. Mix until a smooth dough forms and no longer sticks to your hands.
- Add the baking powder and knead lightly.
- Divide into small portions, grease your hands with olive oil, and flatten each portion.
- Place a bit of shredded chicken in the center and seal into a ball.
- Arrange on a baking tray, brush with olive oil, and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (392°F) for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
Storage & Freezing:
✔ Refrigeration: Store the buns in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
✔ Freezing: Once baked, allow them to cool completely before storing in small portions in freezer-safe bags or airtight containers. Can be frozen for up to 30 days.
✔ Defrosting: Remove only the needed portion from the freezer. Let it thaw naturally in the fridge or reheat directly in the oven or air fryer at 180°C (356°F) for 5 minutes. Do not refreeze once thawed.
