What You Need to Make Weet-bix Banana Bars
- Bananas: add natural sweetness, moisture, and help bind everything together
- Weet-bix: provides bulk and fibre
- Rolled oats: add more fibre and create the chewy texture

How to Make Weet-bix Banana Bars
- Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F. Mash the bananas in a large bowl.
- Add the remaining ingredients except the chocolate: crushed Weet-bix, rolled oats, peanut butter, egg, and maple syrup.
- Stir well to combine.
- Transfer to a lined baking tray and press down firmly.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely.
- If using chocolate, melt it with 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil in 20-second microwave bursts, stirring each time until smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the top, then refrigerate until set.
- Once completely cooled, cut into 8 equal pieces.
Chocolate Tip
The top is delicious drizzled with dark chocolate, but you can also use milk or white chocolate if preferred.
Baby Serving Note
Suitable from 6 months+ only if the chocolate is omitted and peanut butter has already been safely introduced and tolerated. For older babies, serve in soft, manageable strips or small pieces.
