You’ll Need

  • Potato: helps bind the mixture and creates a soft, creamy texture.
  • Egg: acts as a binder and adds moisture.
  • Olive Oil: helps blend the salmon into a smooth paste.
  • Cheese: adds savoury flavour, creaminess, and helps bind.

Ingredients

  • 220 g salmon fillet, skin off
  • 270 g potato, peeled, steamed and mashed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese (or tasty cheese)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Step by Step

  1. Steam the potato until soft.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F.
  3. Blend the salmon, egg, and olive oil into a smooth paste.
  4. Mash the potato roughly.
  5. Add the cheese, garlic powder, and salmon mixture.
  6. Mix to combine.
  7. Shape into nuggets.
  8. Bake until cooked through and lightly golden.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F.
  2. Peel, cut, steam, and mash the potato.
  3. Blend together the olive oil, egg, and salmon into a smooth paste. A food processor works well for this.
  4. In a bowl, combine the mashed potato, cheese, garlic powder, and salmon paste.
  5. Mix until everything is evenly combined.
  6. Shape into nuggets or tots.
  7. Place on a lined baking tray.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes.

Serving Ideas

Serve alongside fresh fruit or veggies for a simple, balanced meal. They’re also great as a snack or packed into lunchboxes for older little ones.
