🥕🥦 Vegetable Latkes for Kids (9 Months & Up) – A Yummy Hanukkah Tradition with a Spin!

These vegetable latkes add a kid-friendly, veggie-filled spin on a classic holiday favorite. Made with potato, carrot, broccoli, simple seasonings, and just a little flour, they’re crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfect for babies 9 months and up when served appropriately.

Perfect for 9 months+, soft enough to chew but still textured.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium size potato (gold potato)
  • 4 broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour or flour of choice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Avocado oil for lightly frying

Optional

  • Salt to taste (omit for younger babies)

Directions

  1. Bring a medium pot of water to a boil and add broccoli, carrot, and potato. Par-boil for 8 minutes, keeping vegetables in large pieces.
  2. Drain well. Chop broccoli and grate potato and carrot.
  3. Whisk eggs in a bowl.
  4. Add vegetables, seasonings, and flour. Mix well.
  5. Heat a little avocado oil in a non-stick pan. Cook latkes for about 3 minutes per side over medium heat until golden.
  6. Serve slightly warm with yogurt dip or sour cream.
